Tips on how to use your tumbler-if you find your barrel leaks:
• Maybe too much polishing powder. This expands considerably if too heavy handed. You only need a touch.
• If the lip on the inside of the barrel and the inside rim of the inner lid (also known as the inner lid boot gasket) are wet, this can act like a lubricant and not seal properly. Please dry these before putting into place.
• If you screw the barrel nut too tightly, this will gently pull the inner lid away from the barrel. The nut is intended to be a stabiliser and hold the barrel to the barrel guide – the nut is not meant to secure the lid to the barrel.
• If filling the barrel too full, this also results in pressure against the lid. It's suggested to fill the barrel no more than just under ¾ full.
• If polishing Sterling Silver, you only need to run the tumbler for a few hours and have smaller quantities of product in the barrel. If your barrel is 3/4 full for this purpose-then it may be way too heavy which will cause leaking.
