Reduction Frits

The frits we have are COE096 compatible. It is suitable for hot and cold working as its not subject to tension in the smoothing and polishing stages.

Kugler and Reichenbach are two premium, German-manufactured glass brands widely used in beadmaking, lampworking, and furnace glassblowing. While they share the same base 96 COE (Coefficient of Expansion) and offer similar color types, they differ in their base glass formulation, color density, and reactive properties

Reduction frit forms a metallic luster similar to a raku like effect. To use, place frit on a marvering pad, heat bead enough to pick up the frit and melt it fully into the bead, melt the frit very thinly to the surface for best compatibility. Keep the glass molten and adjust the torch to a strong reduction flame. When you reheat the bead, the reduction flame causes the metalic oxides to come to the surface. Powder covers the bead with a cous luster, larger frit makes a broken or patchy pattern. The assortment includes a variety of colors, in assorted sizes, each package weighs approximately a 1/2 ounce.
