Australian Wave Hill Agate

Australian Wave Hill Agate has bold fortification banding, like the finest Laguna or Fairburn agates; the colours are at least as appealing as that seen in Dryhead or Lake Superior agates; it has a large helping of parallax, like some of the best Botswana agates; it has intricate orbs and bullseyes that rival some ocean jaspers; and to top it all off, it has contrast and composition to die for!

If you think that the Agate Creek site is remote, the Wavehill Station is even more remote in Northwest Territory, making it harder to obtain these spectacular agates. Most agates found there are heavily fractured with peeling bands as a result of weathering, but some good specimens have been found and those are usually expensive. Most agates consist of interlaying quartz and white, gray, lavendar, pink or red agate bands. The inclusions and quartz (sometimes geodes) nodules are more resistant to weathering. For now the large and better specimens can be obtained only from older collection despite few recent attempts at mining the agates.

A little bit goes a long way. Hold it just before giving a speech, or when you want to write but have writer's block, when you need to free yourself from a contract, oppressive job, or marriage, and prior or during meditation when you are seeking the highest clarity and liberation from the ego. If you are starting to take unnecessary risks, leave this stone alone for a while.
