Welcome Megan!

Gemworld is delighted to introduce our newest employee, Megan! Megan has been beading for 30 years. Her passion started with having a creative husband, where she thought to herself "why should he be the only one having fun?" Megan began making earrings out of leather and to embellish her work, she found a bead shop and her addiction began for bright and shiny things - only 2 bead shops existed in Brisbane at the time! Wanting her beads to tell a story and speak for themselves, she combines texture, shape and colour of the beads into her creations. Among her favourites are semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystals and sterling silver findings. Megan makes and sells her work at markets all around Brisbane. What does Megan want to achieve during her time at Gemworld? Megan says she wants to instil a love of beading in those people who visit the store and sign up for her classes. She says it is just a great craft and hobby. Apart from pursuing this passion, Megan has set her sights on re-organising the enormous amount of stock that Gemworld has collected and continues to buy from around the world. So if you are a beader and want the very best of advice, come visit Gemworld and meet Megan. She will be found at Gemworld on Wednesday and Thursday every week and we are also lucky enough to have her conduct classes on the first Saturday of each month.
